Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, the Visual Communications and Design major admits to not being into graphic art until he began his undergraduate career at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago.
“It seemed interesting and all of the work was mainly digital, so I didn’t have to worry about buying tons of expensive paints and special pencils just to make art.”
Kendrick has been designing logos for a host of friends and family members. Upon hearing about the EEM Logo Contest from a friend, Kendrick decided to “try it out” and used geometry and symmetry as points of inspiration.
“I wanted the logo to be simple and classic but still able to stand out.”
Jerome Kendrick has dreams of starting a design firm. When asked about his words of advice to aspiring artists and other people who are dreaming big, he said: “Just go for it! Try new things, speak your truths, enjoy new experiences and let go. Live in the moment and remember that what you put into this world will be precisely what you get back.”
